This expansion consisted of a 40,000 sq ft addition to HGS’s 80,000 sq ft pilot production facility located in Rockville, MD. The capacity of the existing central plant was expanded to provide services for the new addition. We were responsible for the installation of validatable process and non-process systems including high-pressure steam, process chilled water, HVAC utilities, plumbing systems, and process and bio-waste. Completed the field installation of the Owner supplied bioreactors, fermentors, and CIP skids. Our field supervision personnel worked along side the Owner’s commissioning personnel during start-up of the systems.
Coordinated the installation of the mechanical and process systems with the Owner’s on site representation utilizing the P & ID documents prepared by the A/E. Prepared and submitted cost savings analysis for the Owner based upon our review of the documents. Worked closely with Gilbane developing the construction schedule and supported their efforts maintaining the schedule.
