Chief Executive Officer

George Dunn, Jr., is the third generation in the family business to lead Heffron Company. George has successfully transformed Heffron Company into an industry leader throughout the Washington D.C. area.

His primary mission has been to uphold the intrinsic values that Heffron has maintained for more than 100 years.

George received his undergraduate degree in Business from the University of Notre Dame. He continued on to Georgia Institute of Technology to study mechanical engineering. From there, George completed the S.C.M.P (Small Company Management Program) at Harvard University.

President

Colin Dunn is the fourth generation in the family to join the team at Heffron Company. He takes great pride in knowing what a legacy his father, grandfather and great-grandfather worked their lives to create. It is Colin’s life’s mission to carry Heffron into the next 100 years. Colin received an undergraduate degree from Hampden Sydney College and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. He spent his high school summers working at Heffron Company and has many fond memories of his time spent in the field. Colin officially joined the team in 2010 and while he wears many hats as President, he really puts an emphasis on forming new and continuing the long-standing relationships with Heffron’s clients.

Mike Hunke

Chief Financial Officer

Mike Hunke started with Heffron Company in March 2022, after gaining significant experience from holding senior finance leadership roles with KDB Mechanical, Gray & Son/Maryland Paving, Hydro Aluminum-Norsk Hydro, Lafarge North America and Aggregate Industries.  Early on in his career, prior to entering the construction materials and mechanical contracting industries, he was a commercial loan officer at a regional Midwest bank focused heavily on Small Business Administration loan packages. As a results-oriented individual, Mike’s passion lies in achieving continued success for a company and assisting others wherever he can.  Mike earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration from North Dakota State University where he continues to serve on the Business Schools Accounting and Information Services Advisory Board.  He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix.  Mike is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Steve Johnson

Senior Vice President of Construction

After earning his A.A. degree in business administration, locally through Montgomery College, Steven began his career as an apprentice steamfitter, completing the five year training program through the UA Mechanical Trade School. He has received additional management training through Learning Journey, Inc., Dale Carnegie Training, and The Center for Creative Leadership.

Steven’s experience in mechanical contracting has been as a steamfitter working in the field, a BIM Coordinator, Project Engineer, Project Manager, Project Executive, and Construction Executive. He is experienced in public and private sector work with mechanical projects ranging from  two million to seventy million dollars.

Steven joined Heffron Company in July of 2015 and is excited to take part in Heffron’s culture of bringing added value to its business partners.

Jonathon Boyd

Senior Vice President of Service

Jonathan Boyd serves as the Senior Vice President of the Service Department for Heffron Company.  Jonathan started with Heffron Company back in January, 2003 as a UA Local 602 Steamfitter-Helper. He completed his 5 year Steamfitter Apprenticeship at the UA Local 602 School in Capital Heights, MD. Jonathan then worked for several years in the field as a senior service technician overhauling centrifugal chillers, rebuilding cooling towers, diagnosing hydronic heating and cooling systems and solving complex HVAC challenges for many clients around the MD/DC/VA area. Jonathan now leads a service team of over 50 dedicated employees whose mission is to service the HVAC and plumbing needs of many Biotech, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Commercial Building Clients. His responsibilities include all aspects of service and construction management, including strategic planning, business development, labor relations, contract administration, cost analysis and customer satisfaction. With over 20 years’ experience in the HVAC trade, Jonathan continually looks for areas of improvement within his department as they enter their 100th year in business. Jonathan’s goal is to preserve the values and principles that have been long held by this 4 th generation family owned business.

Brian Foster

Vice President of Construction

With more 27 years of mechanical contracting experience in the Washington, D.C. region, Brian has managed projects ranging from a downtown 12-story-office building to the expansion of the main terminal at Dulles International Airport.

For the past six years, Brian has led Heffron Company’s involvement in biotech and pharmaceutical projects along the I-270 corridor in Maryland. These projects include a GMP manufacturing facility and various clean room labs and research facilities.

Brian has a bachelors of science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.

His previous work experience includes Poole & Kent and BCC Mechanical.

Tarek Geblaoui

Tarek Geblaoui

Vice President of Design and Preconstruction

A native of the Washington, DC area, Tarek graduated from the University of Maryland Clark School of Engineering with a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. Tarek oversees our Preconstruction department and oversees large scale Biotech projects. Tarek has been an integral part of our team for over 10 years and has successfully completed various large scale biotech projects. Tarek was the leader of a project that won the ISPE FOYA award, WBC HVAC Craftsmanship award, and the ENR MidAtlantic Best Projects award.
